You Are Not Alone

“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord , open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire”. (2 Kings 6:16‭-‬17 NLT)

Have you ever had moments in your life when it just feels like there is no way out? We all at some points in our lives have experienced anxieties because of one reason or the other. Sometimes I start to think I can solve the situation by myself then I start to think, “Well, where is God in all of this?” However, just because we do not see anything happening does not mean that God is not doing something in the background and has left us.

I came across the poem of ‘The Footprints In the Sand’ years ago and every time I feel discouraged or anxious; I often read it and immediately, I am reminded that God is with me and that I am never alone. This is a reminder I want to share with you today:

The Footprints Prayer

One night I had a dream…

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, There was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life
This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
You would walk with me all the way;
But I have noticed that during the
most troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why in times when I
needed you the most, you should leave me.

The Lord replied, “My precious, precious
child. I love you, and I would never,
never leave you during your times of
trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.

Surrounded (Fight My Battles) Michael W. Smith

Even when you might feel like you are surrounded and it looks like there is no way out, GOD IS RIGHT THERE with you and it is a reminder for everyone. Be encouraged and be strong. There is a fight in you and it will get better.
