Reset

There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord ’s counsel—that will stand.
Proverbs 19:21 NKJV

Like many, I had so many plans for 2020. I had it all “figured” out and I was so excited about my plans. However, it went to a screeching holt once the first lockdown was announced. I was confused, slightly annoyed and very much felt inconvenienced! I mean, why would God even let this happen right? Initial annoyance turned into full fledge fear and panic that I could catch the virus and end up dead as a result.

However, I decided to make a conscious decision not to let fear overtake and consume my life. I chose daily to walk in faith and believe that God would see me through. Today, nearly the end of 2020 and God has been faithful as He always has and will continue to be! I am still here, with my faith unshaken. Yes I have had challenges but God has seen me through and have come out victorious over each and every one of them. My family, my friends and my church are also still standing strong. Not that it is of any of our doing but God’s faithfulness, grace and mercy towards us🙏🏽.

I have experienced an overwhelming sense of peace this year because I have finally decided not to try and control everything every aspect of my life. The fact of the matter is that God is in control and we only need to recognise this by how this year has turned out.

Are there areas in your life you need to let go and let God be God over your life?

Don’t let the influence and pressures of media or people’s perceived ideas of how your life should be influence your life and decisions. The only person who should influence every aspect your life is God!

As you start preparing for the new year ahead, make a decision to press the reset button. Let go of the past. Let go of the control. Let go of hindrances that have kept you bound from moving forward and let God lead your life.

God loves you and so do I❤
