I have often heard people say in certain situations, “Just take this as a lesson and move on. Better is coming“. Whilst I 100% share the same sentiment, can we be real for a second and talk about those things which are simply not THAT easy to let go of…
The missed opportunity (which you had been waiting for Lord only knows for how long for suddenly falls through because someone messed it up and it wasn’t your fault!🤯).
The job you didn’t get (but prepared for the interview for hours if not weeks for including doing a presentation topic you had to deliver at short notice!😩)
The unanswered prayers (even after you have prayed and fasted and STILL God did not turn it around in the manner you thought He would🤷🏾♀️).
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. I am referring to those experiences we have to intentional pray and walk away from. Yes, the struggling kind of faith walk! Let’s talk about it! Oftentimes we are quick to talk about the end and not necessarily the journey to get to the end!
What do you do when you are hurting and the thought of regression to the last place made you seemingly feel more secure and at peace makes more sense than moving on? Is it because of the familiarity of a place made you think that the environment was good yet it was extremely toxic if you took time to analyse the situation for what it was? The Israelites had the same problem. God delivered them out of Egypt and they said:
“If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by pots of meat and ate all the bread we wanted. Instead, you brought us into this wilderness to make this whole assembly die of hunger!” Exodus 16:3 CSB
Yes, the past may have been good but there is a reason why it is the past! It may be difficult whilst you are going through but remember, joy comes in the morning. God is with you and he will see you through. Trust the process even when it hurts, when you don’t understand and when you can’t see a way out. Victory is yours in Jesus’ name🙏🏽.
God loves you & so do I! 💕
