Who is leading you

A bit of backstory, so after Moses died, Joshua was appointed as the next leader as the Israelites journeyed to the promised land. Joshua 1 starts with God giving him encouragement and his marching orders.

One of the things God said to Joshua was to be careful in following all that he had commanded him (Joshua 1:7). Now in chapter 6, we find God asking Joshua yet again to follow the instructions to the last letter.

March around the city with all the men of war, circling the city one time. Do this for six days. Joshua 6:3 CSB

Early on the seventh day, they started at dawn and marched around the city seven times in the same way. That was the only day they marched around the city seven times. Joshua 6:15 CSB

Now I am not too sure I would be feeling particularly enthusiastic after being asked to walk around a city once each day for 6 straight days THEN seven times on the 7th day! I mean it sounds a bit crazy even saying it out loud🤷🏽‍♀️🤔! I would be thinking, ‘Why wouldn’t we just go straight in, God is on our side anyway and he has already promised victory?

One thing which is interesting though is that God gave the ending before the beginning happened…follow me on this.. Joshua was told where to attack and what the outcome was. At that time he didn’t know the ‘how’. This only came after he was near Jericho.

This is why faith is a verb. Sometimes you need to move FIRST before the next instruction comes through. This is the challenge we face because who doesn’t want to know what’s going on or what the plan is dare I say unprepared?🤷🏽‍♀️

It is quite clear from reading the text that at no point did Joshua deviate from the instructions he was given. As a result, the army was victorious in conquering Jericho.

What are you holding back from doing because the outcome is unknown? I want to challenge you…

DO IT ANYWAY AND TRUST GOD‼️

God loves you and so do I ❤️.
