“This is the writing that was inscribed: Mene , Mene , Tekel , and Parsin. This is the interpretation of the message: ‘Mene’ means that God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end. ‘Tekel’ means that you have been weighed on the balance and found deficient. ‘Peres’ means that your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
Daniel 5:25-28 CSB
Over the past weeks especially, one of the things I have thoroughly enjoyed is soaking in the word of God. Who actually needs to watch tv? Some of the stories found in the Bible…wow🙆🏽♀️. All but for God to relay His message to His people that by so doing; we may be inspired, challenged, changed and ultimately transformed into the people He created us to be!💯
For example, let us read this scripture: “At that moment the fingers of a man’s hand appeared and began writing on the plaster of the king’s palace wall next to the lampstand. As the king watched the hand that was writing, his face turned pale, and his thoughts so terrified him that he soiled himself and his knees knocked together“. Daniel 5:5-6 CSB
I don’t know about you but if this was playing out before my very eyes, I would probably have the same reaction😱. A bit of background; so this king, Belshazzar had brought gold vessels that had been taken from the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem and they decided to have a party and drink from these very vessels. Clearly God was not pleased! This is why this message had been given to him to inform him what was about to happen as a result of some of the choices he had made leading up to this point.
Sometimes the events that happen in our lives are completely out of our control whereas in other times; they are a direct consequence of our actions. Yes, God does forgive those who come to Him in true repentance but that doesn’t negate the fact that there are still going to be consequences as a result of some of the decisions we have made.
I urge you to seek wisdom in everything you do. Consider the potential consequences of your actions. Consider the calibre of people you choose to do life with. Have people around you who challenge you to be a better version of yourself and have people around you who will call you out when you are acting a complete fool! Yes I know😒, no one really likes correction but correction and truth spoken in love is necessary for our growth.
Remember that God disciplines those He loves❤.

Makes me check my actions, even thoughts.
